Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our website or engaging Moving by Design for any moving services. By accessing our website or booking our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Services Provided

Moving by Design provides professional moving services including but not limited to local moving, long distance moving, interstate moving, residential moving, apartment moving, commercial moving, packing and unpacking, custom crating, specialty item moving, senior moving, piano moving, and gun safe moving throughout Houston, Texas, and surrounding areas. All services are subject to availability and the specific terms agreed upon at the time of booking.

2. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes provided by Moving by Design are estimates based on the information you supply to us at the time of inquiry. Final pricing may vary if the scope of the move changes, additional items are added, access to the property is more difficult than described, or unforeseen circumstances arise on moving day. We will communicate any pricing changes with you before proceeding.

We believe in transparent, honest pricing with no hidden fees. Any additional charges, such as for long carry distances, stairs, or extra stops, will be discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of your move.

3. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate information about your move, including the full inventory of items, property access details, floor levels, elevator availability, and any special handling requirements. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in additional charges or service limitations.

You agree to ensure that all items you want moved are legally owned by you or that you have the authority to authorize their relocation. Moving by Design is not responsible for any disputes regarding ownership of items being moved.

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your move, please contact us as soon as possible. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. We will always do our best to accommodate schedule changes depending on availability.

5. Liability and Claims

Moving by Design is fully licensed, insured, and bonded. Our liability for loss or damage to your belongings during a move is governed by applicable state and federal regulations. We encourage you to discuss coverage options with us at the time of booking and to consider additional valuation protection if you have high-value items.

We are not liable for damage to items that were packed by the owner, pre-existing damage to items, damage resulting from improper or insufficient packing of items we were not asked to pack, or damage resulting from the inherent nature of certain items. Any claims for loss or damage must be reported to us in writing within the timeframe required by applicable law.

6. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of your move unless other arrangements have been agreed upon in writing in advance. We accept cash, personal check, and all major credit cards. A deposit may be required to secure your booking, particularly for long distance or interstate moves. Any returned checks may be subject to a returned check fee.

7. Prohibited Items

For the safety of our crew and compliance with applicable regulations, Moving by Design will not transport hazardous materials, flammable substances, explosives, illegal items, perishable food items, live plants, or animals. We reserve the right to refuse to move any item we deem unsafe or illegal to transport.

8. Access and Parking

You are responsible for ensuring that safe and legal parking is available for our moving trucks at both your origin and destination locations. If special permits are required for parking or access, it is your responsibility to obtain them in advance. Moving by Design is not liable for parking tickets, towing fees, or delays caused by insufficient access.

9. Force Majeure

Moving by Design shall not be held liable for any delays or failure to perform services caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather events, natural disasters, road closures, traffic accidents, mechanical breakdowns, or other events that could not have been reasonably anticipated or avoided.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or our services shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of Harris County, Texas.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will take effect upon posting to our website. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
